Publishing means regularly hitting deadlines. But it also means consistently delivering content that is not only new, but in line with an editorial vision and the audience’s expectations—and that can be a challenging needle to thread.

In addition to the design and production responsibilities associated with releasing the Willow Springs magazine, I was also a key member of the editorial team, weighing in weekly (if not more frequently) on submissions to the journal across all its genres: fiction, nonfiction, and poetry. I was also one of the final judges for the 2010 and 2011 Willow Springs Fiction Prizes.

For National PTA, I wrote a bi-monthly column (thematically connected to an editorial calendar for the leadership) on behalf of the national president for Our Children magazine. I was also the chief writer/editor for the annual Quick Reference Guides found in the Official PTA Kit.

At the National MS Society, I was a contributing writer and editor for their two quarterly publications, MS Connection and Reaching Out, primarily working on research and event related articles as well as profiles of individuals.
